Year on year the must see sporting event in Britain is, of course, the tennis tournament at Wimbledon. In fact, it is often seen as the must-see tennis event in the world owing to it being the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament. Also, being one of the few tournaments played on real grass, it is one of the few times that tennis fans are able to see a different style of tennis and certainly adds to its uniqueness. The main upshot of this is that Wimbledon is one of the most popular sporting events in the country with thousands of people attending every year.

This places an incredible strain on the public transport system around the Wimbledon area. With so many people clamouring for a bus or a taxi after a match it becomes increasingly unlikely that you will be able to catch one for a while. This has become more problematic due to new retractable roof that has been constructed which means that matches can finish much later; leaving you waiting in the dark. The best solution is to hire a car. No more waiting around in the dark for a bus; you just leap into your car and be home much quicker than you would have been if you’d decided to catch a bus. You can even afford to stay a little bit longer and go to a cafe to get the authentic Wimbledon experience – eating your strawberries and cream without any time constraints on you.

Wimbledon Car Parks

I am going to go to Wimbledon this summer, which is fantastic. I have always been a great fan of tennis and I am really hoping that Andy Murray might do well this year and so have decided that this might be a good time to go this year. I have already sorted out where I am going to stay as I have a relative who lives in London in a flat and they happen to be away for the time that I will be there so not only will I have the place to myself but also use of her parking space. I have therefore decided to hire a car, as she is quite far away from Wimbledon itself an then I will take a look at Wimbledon car parks in order to find out which one will be the best for me to park in.

Unfortunately I could not afford tickets to centre court, so I have decided to go for a ground pass instead. This means that I will be able to watch the big matches on the big screen in the grounds and also wander around and experience what Wimbledon is like behind the scenes. The parts that you do not see on the television, what the strawberries and cream really taste like, what the museum is like and see how many famous faces I can bump in to while I am there. I cannot wait to fulfil this almost life long dream and I think that once I visit once, I will want to return.
